Meet the Pitmaster
Jonathan Pinckney
Jonathan Pinckney is the Pitmaster behind The Savory Smoke. Born and raised in the Lowcountry, he learned to cook the way most folks learn it down here — Saturdays dog hunting, around a fire, with patience and good wood. His best buddy, Jason Bryan, and his father David were always cooking up something tasty growing up. Over 25 years of being around these guys cooking rice and chickens inspired many of our dishes. Mr. David was a huge inspiration and mentor on learning to cook. The Savory Smoke is a true taste of the Lowcountry. Together with his wife, children, and parents The Savory Smoke was born. Most days you will find him behind the smoker serving up some of the best BBQ in the south.
